
Aligning School Library Selection Policy with New Colorado Law; Guidance for School Districts
The passage of Colorado Senate Bill 25-063 introduces new expectations for transparency and consistency in school library material selection and reconsideration policies. This webinar provides school district leaders, library professionals, and policymakers with a structured approach to evaluating their current policies and procedures in light of the law. Participants will explore the legal requirements, review model practices, and leave with tools to update or create policies that are compliant, inclusive, and responsive to their school communities.
About the presenter
Suzi Tonini is the School Library Leadership Consultant for the Colorado State Library. Suzi holds a M.Ed. in Education from George Mason University and a M.A. in Information Learning Technologies and Teacher Librarian endorsement from the University of Colorado Denver. Suzi has more than twenty years of experience as an educator and seven years of experience as a librarian for Denver Public Schools and the state of Colorado.
