Design Thinking in the Library: Everything, Everywhere, All at Once

Learn how to promote critical thinking and teach design thinking in the library! Presenters will share all the steps and strategies for teaching a cardboard arcade unit that fosters school-wide collaboration, interdisciplinary learning, and huge amounts of fun. 

Registration is required.

About the presenters:

Kim Butler has been a Teacher Librarian for 16 years and is currently teaching in a half time position at Creekside Elementary in BVSD and half time at Fairview High School. She was a recipient of the Highly Effective School Library designation for Birch Elementary and is now working towards the complete credentials for Creekside. She enjoys incorporating STEAM traits into her instruction within the school’s library programming.

Rae Ciciora is the District Library Coordinator for BVSD. She acts as a consultant for 46 school libraries and as an advocate for teacher librarians with district leadership. She maintains the libraries’ union catalog, the library management system, and the district digital library. Rae loves connecting school librarians with the larger library world, whether it be through public library partnerships or sparking ideas from resources across multiple disciplines.
