Adult Services Regional Workshop – Grand Junction
Colorado State Library is inviting you and your librarians and staff to the inaugural Adult Services Regional Workshop at the Mesa County Central Library in Grand Junction on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Adult Services in libraries isn’t just book clubs and local history events. Services, programs, and resources for adults are incredibly varied and just as dynamic. Six hours is nowhere close to enough to cover all the topics and nuances relevant to library services to adults, but it’s a start.
Participants will learn about the changing demographics of their communities, consider their community’s needs, and come up with creative ways of addressing those needs in a collaborative, supportive environment with their peers.
Topics covered in the 2024 Adult Services Workshop are:
- Aging in Colorado: Numbers, Ideas, and Resources
- Overdose Prevention and Harm Reduction
- Homelessness
- Adult Literacy
This promises to be a day of interactive learning, reflection on our own individual and unique communities, and collaboration.
Coffee and tea, boxed lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be provided. An additional optional hour for networking and knowledge sharing has been scheduled for the end of the day.
Registration is free but is required. Register here for the in-person Grand Junction Adult Services Regional Workshop on August 16th. Can’t make it to this event? We are taking this show on the road and will be your neck of the woods soon.
